New Student Registration and Returning Student Verification forms in Grande Yellowhead Public School Division are conducted exclusively online. All parents and guardians must complete a registration form or returning student verification form before their student can be registered for the upcoming school year.
Please note, Niton Central has a computer available for any families requiring access or assistance when filling out the form.
Please contact our school office at 780-795-3782 for further clarification.
A New Student is one who has never been enrolled in a school in GYPSD or was not enrolled in a GYPSD school on the last day of school in the previous school year, as well as new kindergarten students entering school for the first time.
A Returning Student is one who was enrolled in a GYPSD school on the last day of the previous school year (e.g. students entering Grades 1-12).
Snapcodes have been emailed to families for the Returning Student Verification Form to confirm enrolment for the 2021/2022 school year.
All Returning Student Verification forms must be submitted for the 2021/2022 school year prior to September 7.
If you are choosing Virtual Education or Hybrid Learning for the 2021/2022 school year, you MUST complete the returning student verification form where your child(ren) are currently registered. For example, if your child attended Westhaven last year and will be accessing virtual education this year, they still register as a Westhaven student.
If you have not received your Snapcode, please check your spam folder prior to contacting your school secretary.
School bus transportation service is provided at no cost for resident students who reside 2.4 kms or more from their designated school.
Eligible students do not need to re-register for the school bus each year unless the student has moved or changed schools.
All new students, including kindergarten students, who require transportation, must register for the school bus.
Designated school is defined as the nearest school located within the attendance area, in which the student resides.
Due to the COVID 19 pandemic and the implementation of health and safety measures to protect students, the Division will not be accepting registrations for the bussing of ineligible students at this time.
